Today in Italy there are more than 100,000 deaf people: their disability relegates them to the fringes of society. They have great difficulty in communication because they can not be understood by people who do not know sign language. Our solution is Talking hands,a glove that can translate the sign language in voice.
It records hand movements during sign language usage, translates them and transfers signal to a smartphone, which pronounces the sentence using a voice synthesizer. The signs can raise their voice!

PROMO OF TALKING HANDS AT MAKER FAIRE ROME 2016
A product with such potential has not yet been commercialized and during the first year of work, LiMiX has developed a functional prototype with the aim to study in depth the problem and the feasibility of the solution. The first results are awesome! The idea is still young, but its strong social impact has already attracted the interest of public and private companies and our research team is currently developing the product to be launched on the market.
Talking Hands is a product that will bring a significant increase in the quality of life of deaf people, too excluded in many social environments.
